  • IFFA 2025 Online Acting Course

    The Indigenous Futures Film Academy (IFFA) is proud to present the Online Acting Course with Cody Kearsley, a transformative 12-month program designed for aspiring Indigenous actors who are serious about pursuing a professional acting career.

    Led by acclaimed actor Cody Kearsley (Riverdale, Day Break), this immersive course offers hands-on training, personalized feedback, and insider knowledge to help participants succeed in the competitive world of film and television.

  • Behind the Lens: Intro to Documentary Workshop

    Step into the world of Indigenous documentary storytelling with monthly workshops led by Nate Gattney and Desmond Simon from Wabanaki Media.

    • Date: March 24th, 7:00 PM EST
    • Participants: Open to 8-12 Indigenous filmmakers across Turtle Island.

    • Requirements: Participants must be Indigenous and over the age of 18+.

  • IFFA x Canadian Media Fund - Sector Development Funding

    The Indigenous Futures Film Academy (IFFA) is proud to announce that we have been selected to receive funding from the Canada Media Fund (CMF) Sector Development Grant. This funding is a significant step forward in our mission to empower Indigenous filmmakers by creating opportunities for training, mentorship, and hands-on industry experience. With CMF’s support, IFFA will expand its programming, including workshops, on-set training initiatives, and capacity-building projects that strengthen Indigenous storytelling in the screen industry. This investment ensures that Indigenous voices continue to be amplified, celebrated, and supported in meaningful ways. We are deeply grateful for this partnership and excited to continue fostering the next generation of Indigenous creators.

    The Indigenous Futures Film Academy (IFFA) is thrilled to present a Comedy Writing for Television Workshop with the hilarious and talented Tai Leclaire writer and actor known for his work on Rutherford Falls and more!

  • Our On-Set Readiness Program, hosted at satellite facilities across Canada, offers a practical and immersive experience for individuals eager to transition from theoretical learning to hands-on film production. This program provides comprehensive training in on-set dynamics, roles, and responsibilities guided by industry professionals. Participants will engage in real-world scenarios across various departments, ensuring they acquire the skills and confidence needed for effective collaboration and contribution on set.

  • Our Cultural Awareness Training program is designed to educate participants on historical and contemporary injustices Indigenous communities face, particularly within society and media. This comprehensive training covers essential topics, including Truth and Reconciliation, portraying Indigenous peoples in media, and strategies for creating inclusive spaces.
