"Oskâyak – You Are Not Alone"

The Indigenous Futures Film Academy is honoured to present Oskāyak: You Are Not Alone, the first short documentary created through the IFFA Youth Film Program. A powerful debut written, directed, and filmed entirely by the students of Oskâyak High School in Saskatoon.

Rooted in truth-telling and community healing, this powerful short documentary explores the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma and the mental health challenges facing Indigenous youth today, through heartfelt interviews with Cecile Smith, Calvin George, and Jaida Moore.

The film offers a deeply personal and honest look at how trauma is carried, how it impacts mental health, and how healing can begin. Healing is possible, and we are not alone!
